Things to see and do
A tour of Servoz is a must, leaving the house on foot, soak up the bucolic atmosphere, discover the local heritage (old farmhouses, bread ovens, fountains and relics …) visit the artisan workshops, the Alpage museum, (Maison de l’Alpage), the exhibitions and activities at the Lieutenant’s House, (Maison du Lieutenant), the natural heritage site of the Diosaz gorge, take a look at the sheep fair, the traditional cow fighting contest, the Chirv’athlon relay race…
Servoz is situated about 13 kms from Chamonix and St Gervais les Bains (valley in direction of les Contamines) and also about thirty kms from the Swiss border at the Chatelard and Courmayeur in Italy (by the Mont Blanc tunnel). You can travel free on the train between Servoz and Vallorcine, on the Swiss border, throughout the year thanks to the carte d’hôte guest card.
Visits to outstanding sites: Aiguille du Midi, Montenvers – Mer de Glace, glaciers, waterfalls… the Alpine museum and Crystal museum in Chamonix…

In winter: Depending on snow conditions snow-shoe walks are possible from the house. Cross-country or downhill skiing in the Chamonix valley (les Houches at 6km) or Saint Gervais – Megève, not forgetting off-piste skiing and ski touring.
Spring is a beautiful more peaceful time of year, a vista of snowy mountain tops and the fresh green flower filled prairies below, a time to discover the mountains at leisure.
There is a long list of summer activities and to name just a few; walking tours and visits, hiking, alpinism, not forgetting the attraction of water: rivers, lakes, swimming pools, canyoning, rafting, river and lake fishing and still more, mountain biking, tennis paragliding…
Autumn should not be overlooked, an “Indian summer” and clement weather to enjoy the spectacle of autumn colours. A time to take part in some local traditional festivities. (sheep fair, cow fighting contest… )
